Mumbai, Oct. 27 -- For a few days now, Shah Rukh and Salman Khan's tryst with Eid-ul-Fitr has been making news. It all started with talks of Shah Rukh's Chennai Express releasing during this auspicious period, which is generally considered to be arch-rival Salman's time at the box office. The star's Dabangg (2010), Bodyguard (2011) and Ek Tha Tiger have released during Eid-ul-Fitr.
However, the latest buzz is that SRK has decided not to release his next during Eid 2013. His film will hit theatres two-three weeks after the Salman-starrer Brindavanam remake (to be made by his brother Soahil Khan) releases on Eid.
But we have heard that these talks have left Salman amused. "Salman doesn't know how to react to such talks. The rumours are hinting that the Brindavanam remake will release at that time, but no one is sure about the release date yet. So how can Shah Rukh shift his film's release?" says an industry insider. "Such talks are only meant to cash in on their strained equation."
Salman, who is currently wrapping up Dabangg 2, will most likely start shooting for his next film only in 2013. "We don't know which film it will be. It could be the Brindavanam remake or Sajid Nadiadwala's Kick. It's possible that Salman starts a film and wraps it in time for Eid," adds the insider. As for Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express, the shoot is still on, so the makers haven't decided the release date.
Sohail and Rohit, despite repeated attempts, remained unavailable for comment.
