After rumored talks, crossed fingers, and less-than-obtuse comments from director Marc Webb on the matter, Jamie Foxx has seemingly officially joined production on the Sony sequel THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2. Listed without fanfare in the press release touting how Dane DeHaan had been chosento play Harry Osborn, Foxx's name came without any listed connection to any one character. That being said, all signs currently point to the man taking on lead villain duties via the part of Electro, and Foxx recently dished a comment or two that revealed a bit about the current-channeling character's place in the whole Spidey scheme of things. Nothing game-breaking, but fun to know nonetheless:
“Electro is a great character. I met with the director, Mark Webb, I met with Andrew Garfield, and we talked… I think Electro will be an exciting character to play because he’s a… genius electrician-type person, and he gets the short end of the stick from the whole world, and the next thing you know he turns it on.”
