Thank God- Director of Social Network & Screenplay Writer of the Social Network are working on a Steve Jobs Movie
Sony Pictures is moving forward with its Steve Jobs movie, a year after critically-panned "jOBS" starring Ashton Kutcher was released. "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)" director David Fincher who is currently completing the Ben Affleck starrer, "Gone Girl", is in early negotiation stage to helm the biopic.
The film is based on Walter Isaacson's best-selling biography of the Apple co-founder. Aaron Sorkin, who penned Fincher's "The Social Network", has finished adapting the book into a screenplay. "The Social Network" producer Scott Rudin will produce the biopic along with Mark Gordon and Guymon Casady.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak takes part in the film as a consultant. Sony boarded the project in October 2011, just weeks after Jobs lost battle against pancreatic cancer. Sorkin started working on the script in 2012 while he was heavily involved in HBO's "The Newsroom".
The scribe once spilled to The Daily Beast, "This entire movie is going to be three scenes, and three scenes only, that all take place in real time." Those scenes, he said, would run 30 minutes in length and reveal the product launches of Apple's original Macintosh computer (1984), NeXT Cube (1990), and original iPod (2001).
No actor has been cast for the untitled Steve Jobs biopic.
